Peanut Squishies

A peanut squishy is a peanut-in-the-shell, textured ridges and all, that crackles when you squeeze it. Under the bumpy skin is a core of solid micro-beads, so the sound is a fine, dry crunch rather than a single crack, and it does not run out. It is the squishy people film for "cracking peanut" ASMR, and one of the easiest to carry because it fits in a closed fist.

Why the Peanut Crunches

The shell ridges are moulded into a TPR skin; the crunch comes from the beads inside grinding together as the shell compresses. Because the beads are solid, not a coating, the sound does not wear out the way a cracking clay squishy does. Squeeze it in a year and it sounds the same.

Most come in twos or threes, which is convenient because one always ends up in a bag.

What to Look for in a Peanut Squishy

  • Bead size. Finer beads give a smoother crunch; larger beads a coarser rattle.
  • Shell texture. Deep ridges give fingers more to work with.
  • Skin thickness. Thicker skins survive nails; thin ones split at the ridges.

Safety and Care

Crunchy squishies get their sound from solid plastic micro-beads (the same kind used in building-block bricks) sealed inside a TPR or silicone skin. They are not water beads and do not expand. Ages 3+ with adult supervision; if the skin splits, retire it rather than patching it.

Wipe with a barely damp cloth, air dry, keep away from heat and direct sunlight, and never stretch past the natural limit. The full routine is in our care guide.

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes a peanut squishy crunchy?

Solid plastic micro-beads sealed inside a textured TPR shell. Squeezing grinds them together for a dry crunch.

Does a peanut squishy stop crunching?

No. Unlike wax-coated cracking toys, the beads are permanent, so the sound lasts as long as the skin holds.

Are peanut squishies safe for kids?

Ages 3+ with supervision. The beads are solid plastic, not water beads. Retire it if the skin splits.
