Scented Waffle Squishy

A jumbo waffle, complete with syrup, a butter pat and a face. At 11.5 cm across it fills a palm, and the cream scent lands before you have even squeezed it. Slow-rising foam: flatten it and the waffle grid reappears over a couple of seconds.

Watching the Grid Come Back

The waffle pattern is the reason to buy this shape. Press it flat and the moulded squares vanish completely; let go and they push back into place one row at a time as the foam recovers. It is the clearest demonstration of slow rise in the shop.

The Scent

Lightly cream-scented, strongest out of the packet and fading over a few weeks of use. If you want an unscented desk toy, the plain chocolate bar or butter sticks are the better pick.

Jumbo Means Two Hands

This is a display-and-squeeze piece rather than a pocket fidget. One hand can dent it; flattening the whole waffle takes two. It works as a centrepiece on a shelf next to smaller food squishies.

Care and When to Stop Using It

Wipe with a barely damp cloth and let it air dry fully before storing. Never soak it, never put it in a washing machine or dryer, and never apply heat — heat is the one thing slow-rise foam does not recover from. Keep it out of direct sunlight and away from sharp edges, and squeeze it rather than stretching it. With normal use the rebound holds for six to twelve months.

Scent fades faster in sunlight and heat — another reason to keep foam off a windowsill.
