Cheese Cube Squishies
The cheese squishy is the block that went viral for its texture: a translucent yellow cube, holes and all, with a sticky-soft TPR surface that feels like cold jelly and either rises slowly or, in the vaseline-filled versions, holds whatever shape you press. It comes as small cubes for the pocket and giant blocks for two-hand kneading, and it is the shape that introduced most people to no-rebound squishies.
Jelly Cheese vs Vaseline Cheese
Two very different toys share the name. Jelly cheese cubes are solid, slightly tacky TPR that compresses and slowly regains its shape, with a cloud-like, melty feel. Vaseline cheese blocks are a TPR skin over a thick gel, so they mould and stay moulded. If you want something that resets itself, buy jelly. If you want to shape it, buy vaseline; the full range is in moldable vaseline squishies.
Both are silent, both are cold-feeling, and both leave people surprised the first time.
What to Look for in a Cheese Cube Squishy
- Jelly or vaseline. Slow return versus no return.
- Translucency. Crystal-clear editions show the holes best and mark fastest.
- Size. Small cubes for a pocket, giant blocks for a desk.
Safety and Care
The filling is a thick petroleum-jelly-style gel sealed inside a TPR skin. It is designed to stay put, not to leak. Ages 3+ with adult supervision; keep it away from sharp edges, and if the skin ever tears, throw it out. We do not stock anything filled with water beads, which were recalled in the US in September 2026.
Wipe with a barely damp cloth, air dry, keep away from heat and direct sunlight, and never stretch past the natural limit. The full routine is in our care guide.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is a cheese squishy made of?
Either solid sticky-soft TPR (jelly cheese) or a TPR skin over a thick petroleum-jelly-style gel (vaseline cheese). Both are non-toxic and wipe-clean.
Does a cheese squishy bounce back?
Jelly cheese does, slowly. Vaseline cheese does not; it holds the shape you press until you reshape it.
Why is the cheese squishy sticky?
A slightly tacky surface is part of the jelly-TPR feel. It should not be greasy; if it is, the gel is migrating and the toy should be retired.
